Tour de Gironde à vélo : étape 4 - La Réole / Bazas

Leave the Garonne behind and cycle along an architectural marvel: the Canal de Garonne, which joins the Canal du Midi in Toulouse. That's why you'll also be cycling along the Canal des deux Mers. If the Tour de Gironde à vélo forks off in the direction of Bazas, we suggest you first go to the end of the canal, at its 53rd and last lock. This is a delightfully bucolic stroll along the waterway, past lock houses and canal-side restaurants and guinguettes.

For the second part of the stage, you'll follow a network of small country roads: take a break in a field, or in an abbey to stock up on local produce.

The ultimate reward: the medieval town of Bazas, where you'll come across pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
