Birthplace of Commandant Cousteau (1910-1997) at Saint André de Cubzac.

The family of the famous marine explorer and commander of the "Calypso" hailed from St André de Cubzac and owned a chemist's at 83 rue Nationale where Jacques-Yves Cousteau was born. After a liftime's oceanographic research, he asked to be buried in is hometown.
