Le parc du château et le chemin des lapins

The château was built in 1775, then rebuilt in 1849 after a major fire, by banker Léopold Javal. In 1893, Javal's daughter Sophie, married to Paul Wallerstein, inherited the château and made a number of changes. Then, in 1948, the château was sold to MGEN, who transformed it into an EHPAD.

The park is one of the few located near the shores of the Bay of Arcachon. Unique in its kind, it is populated by a variety of sumptuous trees, including pines, oaks, plane trees and eucalyptus.

It links the town center to the oyster port, via the Chemin des Lapins, an open natural setting where fruit trees, planted by the town in collaboration with the Conservatoire Végétal Régional d'Aquitaine, are combined with shared gardens. Treat yourself to a bucolic stroll, on foot or on wheels! Leashed pets welcome.
