Les lavoirs de Saint-Emilion

These public pools, built in the 19th century, are fed by the same spring that, according to legend, Emilion spurted out in the 8th century in the Hermitage. Offering a real spectacle for the whole village, the washerwomen came here to wash their clothes or rather to rinse them.
