Town Hall - 1902 - Limestone.

Unlike neighboring communes such as Auriolles, Pellegrue and Saint-Ferme, where the municipality has occupied the same premises since its foundation, Landerrouat's town hall has moved 11 times in two centuries, occupying 9 different houses. After having housed a school, the town hall buildings were occupied by a former sheriff of the Canadian Mounted Police, before the municipality moved in again. The village's records, kept in the presbytery, were moved to the town hall in 1793. In 1850, the municipality rented a stable, where the mixed-up archives gradually disappeared. Around 1870, the documents were transferred to the former free school, known as "Le Château", and then moved two or three more times. Finally, the town hall moved back into the renovated former municipal buildings...
