Tile-maker's house - 19th and 20th centuries - Limestone and brick.

Tile-maker workers lived in hovels, most of which belonged to the master tile-maker. This little house, built mainly in pink and red brick, is the work of a worker. Constantly modified, enlarged and enlarging, it served as its owner's grocery store. On the opposite bank of the Despondet, where a tile factory was already mentioned at the time of the Revolution, a new factory was established at the end of the 19th century by Mr. Merveilleau, a former mayor. The site housed a lime kiln - or chauffour - which disappeared when the vines were sulfated with vitriol, or copper sulfate. In the 19th century, the family also owned a "moulinasse" producing walnut oil.
