📍 Vertheuil
Château Reysson
The origins of this beautiful property, next to Vertheuil Abbey, date back to the 17th century. It appears on maps by Belleyme and Cassini under the name "Le Bâtiment", in reference to the impressive winery that still dominates the vineyard today. The estate was renamed Reysson by wealthy financier Auguste Dreyfus, who bought it in 1891. Situated on the summit of a magnificent plateau, our vines rest on a soil that is highly original in the Médoc, composed of clay and asteriated limestone (fossilized shells), and particularly well-suited to the cultivation of Merlot, which develops all its finesse here.
Owned by Maison Dourthe, Château Reysson has been a Cru Bourgeois since 1932, and a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur from the 2018 vintage.
