The Haut-Benauge appellation owes its name to history: the Viscounty of Benauge, of which the remains of a powerful castle remain in Arbis. This appellation produces powerful, lively and well-balanced sweet white wines, as well as some dry white wines that are similar to those of the Entre-deux-Mers.
