Danse : "Piracema" et "Gira" Grupo Corpo
Choreography Rodrigo Pederneiras and Cassi Abranche
Brazilian company Grupo Corpo has become a major reference in contemporary dance. Its choreographic language blends the virtuosity of classical ballet with Brazilian folk rhythms and dances, creating shows of great visual and musical intensity.
In "Piracema", created to celebrate the company?s 50th anniversary, choreographers Rodrigo Pederneiras and Cassi Abranches draw their inspiration from the migration of fish up rivers to evoke the vital impetus of surpassing oneself and the desire to create.
In "Gira", the universe of Afro-Brazilian rituals and the figure of Exu feed a hypnotic, powerful dance, carried by the music of the group Metá Metá. Between spirituality, collective energy and contemporary trance, Grupo Corpo celebrates all the richness and vitality of Brazilian culture.
