Découverte de l'Ile Nouvelle
Board a boat to reach Ile Nouvelle in the middle of the Gironde estuary.
A nature guide will be on hand to show you around.
Île Nouvelle is a natural area of almost 300 hectares, currently being restored to a high level of biodiversity (fauna, flora, natural environments).
The island is a major site for birds. Nearly 190 species were counted in 2018.
Between nature and culture, Île Nouvelle is also rich in history: until 1973, the island was inhabited, the inhabitants were called "îlouts" and vines were grown. The old village has been restored to reveal this singular history.
