Truffières et Vignobles Dorneau

Close to Libourne and neighboring the Pomerol and Saint-Emilion appellations, Vignobles Dorneau covers three appellations: Fronsac, Canon Fronsac and Bordeaux. The 22-hectare estate has been in the same family for several generations. They produce several wines, including Châteaux La Croix and Pontus (AOP Fronsac), Château Roullet (AOP Canon-Fronsac) and Château Canet La Chapelle (AOP Bordeaux).

In 2008, Patrick Dorneau planted a truffle farm in the middle of the vineyards. He leads a number of truffle-growing activities in Gironde as President of the producers' group. This is one of the estate's assets, to be discovered during wine-tasting tours and cooking tips based on Fronsac wine and truffles. Also on the program: a tour of the vineyard, the cellars, the truffle fields and the 8th-century monolithic chapel.
