Théâtre "La dernière bande"
Irish poet, writer and playwright Samuel Beckett (1906-1989, Nobel Prize in Literature 1969) questioned the human condition in a post-war world. A major figure in the Theater of the Absurd, Beckett?s "The Last Tape" is an intimate and deeply moving work.
Spectators will be welcomed at the Espace La Croix-Davids (Villa Burgus), before strolling through the village of Bourg to the performance venue on the Allées Daleau.
The action takes place in an old-fashioned bedroom. The audience, integrated into the scenic space, becomes witness to the confidences of Krapp, a solitary old man who listens to the tapes of his youth. Between memories, regrets and lost love, he attempts to rediscover the man he once was, in a poignant confrontation with the passage of time, memory and solitude.
